When Destiny Intervenes

In my last blog, I mentioned that on the first day of my fast, I began watching a podcast of Gauranga Das Ji. In the podcast, he spoke about the Mini Govardhan Village, ISKCON temple in Wada.

His words left a deep impact on me and I felt a strong desire to visit the place.

After six days, my friends and I made plan to go there. We participated in the Krishna and Radha Ji's aarti, had prashad and then sat peacefully under the shade of the trees. Everything was serene and beautiful.

One of the most quiet and peaceful places I have ever been. Best for meditation and dhyan.

As we were about to leave, a parade began in celebration of Independence Day.

And you won’t believe who I saw—Gauranga Das Ji himself! I could hardly believe my eyes.

The very person I had seen on my laptop screen just six days earlier was now standing right in front of me, the reason why i was visiting the temple. He noticed me and waved.

Even though I didn’t get a picture with him, that moment of eye contact means the world to me. I can’t even begin to explain the feeling that washed over me; words fail me.

I truly admire his teachings and no one has ever inspired me as much as he has. To see him in person was simply the best moment.
